Shanghai
A wet and dark summer awaits – say Danish band Shanghai who release their latest single “Wet Summer” on July 2nd.
Far from being the classic summer song about sunny days and bikini-clad girls, “Wet Summer” continues the moody melancholia characteristic of the band’s earlier releases, including their contribution to the Sound Of Copenhagen/Sony compilation, “Smoke And Mirrors”,
Shanghai are Niels Brandt and Nicolai Kornerup: talented composers, musicians and producers whose music is largely inspired by the darker moodier side of the arts; from the new wave of the 1980’s to the dark classicalism of Ravel and Franz Kafka. Indeed, “Wet Summer” holds clear references to renowned eighties music icons such as The Mission, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Pink Floyd. The band are currently working on their first full length album which is expected to come out in the beginning of 2013
