Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Daniel Powter is set to announce his return to the international music scene with his stunning new album ‘Turn On The Lights’ on 16th July.

Kicking off with lead single ‘Cupid’ it’s immediately obvious that Canadian born Powter is an artist reenergized. A hook-laden and eternally optimistic view on love that floats along on a dreamy, strummy guitar, ‘Cupid’ is destined to be a mainstay on the mainstream radio as the summer months kick in. Already climbing the Hot AC Airplays charts in the US and currently one of the 40 most played tracks with an audience of over 3 million people, its uncynical, universal theme is certainly striking a chord with a huge audience already.

Powter first came to prominence in 2006, when his Grammy nominated international hit ‘Bad Day’ became the most played track of the year on the US Billboard Hot 100 tracks of the year. It hit #1 in the US and Ireland, and was a top 10 hit across the world including UK, Australia, France, Italy and Sweden. However, such international success isn’t anything you can prepare yourself for and as the record sales and the accolades rolled in, Powter, began to feeling increasingly uneasy with his newfound stardom. The pressures associated with having the biggest selling song of the year pushed Daniel in a spiral of drink and drug abuse, and with superstar status within his grasp and half a million albums sales in the UK alone under his belt, it all slipped away. Now clean, having moved to Los Angeles and settled down with his young family, Daniel is revitalized, and ready to reintroduce himself back into the public’ consciousness.

‘Turn On The Lights’ is an album bursting with heartfelt ballads, anthemic rockers, and lyrics that cover life, love and everything else in between. Produced by veteran hitmaker Howard Benson (Kelly Clarkson, Gavin DeGraw, All-American Rejects) at his Bay 7 Studios in Los Angeles, ‘Turn on the Lights’ catches Powter in a soulful, irresistibly uplifting mood. ‘The Day We Never Met’ examines a relationship in reverse, whereas on ‘Come Home’ Powter ponders the necessity of friendship during the hard times. With those times now behind him, this comeback album stands apart from trends and fads as a fine example of classic song writing, from an artist ready to once again show the world exactly what he’s got to offer.

‘Turn On The Lights’ is released by International Solutions / Avex Management Inc. / EMI on 16th July.

Get ready for the sound of the summer as Parisian chanteuse Julia Channel unleashes her thumping new track ‘Forever In A Day’.
Written by English R&B singer/songwriter Varren Wade (Neyo, Jameila, Wretch 32) the track is an uplifting dance/pop anthem that is taking the clubs by storm courtesy of mixes from Big Ali (Bob Sinclair, Lucenzo, Kat DeLuna) and Willy William of Collectif Métissé (David Guetta, LMFAO, Ke$ha).

Julia is no stranger to fame in her native France where she is the face of ‘Homecore’ street clothing and has also presented iconic show ‘Hip Hop Channel’ interviewing the likes of Alicia Keys and Janet Jackson. Now she’s adding another string to her bow to go alongside actress, model and business woman (she runs her own dating site).

“I like happy up-beat music so dance had to be the thing! I want to be able to move like crazy on a music video, so this is what I tried to do with mine.” Explains Julia.

‘Forever In A Day’ is the first track to be lifted from Julia’s amazing debut album ‘Colours’ which includes songwriting credits from Johnny Douglas (Kylie, George Michael) and Alan Laporte (Usher, Jagged Edge) and has been mixed by Vernon Mungo (Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, Kanye West).

“Forever In A Day” – the sound of summer 2012 out 17th June

“I’m very proud to be the first black musician to top the classical charts. It’s both an honour and privilege”
- Noah Stewart

Noah Stewart, took the top spot of the UK’s Classical Albums Chart (Official Charts Company) last week with his debut album ‘Noah’ going straight in at No. 1. The album also entered the UK’s main Official Albums Chart as the 2nd highest new entry behind Madonna’s MDNA.

Martin Talbot, Managing Director of the Official Charts Company comments: “This is a truly ground-breaking achievement for Noah Stewart. Most people naturally look to the Official Singles and Albums charts for the emergence of exciting new talent, but Noah is sure to become a familiar name for years to come following this landmark breakthrough.”

Tim Ingham, Editor of Music Week, said: “Today’s headlines will rightfully be written about Stewart the ground-breaking black tenor. But perhaps even more excitement lies in what – and who – he’s yet to inspire.”

Noah will now return to the UK in May this year for a solo tour, following performances with the Michigan Opera Theater in Detroit and at the internationally renowned Glimmerglass Opera Festival on Otsego Lake.

Hurry back Noah, the UK wants you back!

Music comes no bigger than Meat Loaf! After 40 years and selling over 100 million records, among them one of ...

Music comes no bigger than Meat Loaf! After 40 years and selling over 100 million records, among them one of the biggest albums of all time, Meat Loaf has been a larger than life presence in music with his unique songs and stellar collaborations. Bat Out of Hell sold over 2.1 million copies in the UK and has been awarded Platinum status 23 times. And now, Meat Loaf does it all again with the release of his new album ‘Hell In A Handbasket’, released in the UK 27 February 2012 through Sony Commercial Music Group.

Like most Meat Loaf albums, ‘Hell In A Handbasket’is a BIG album with every song delivering a message that alludes to the theme of the album. Meat Loaf describes it as “the most personal record I’ve ever made. It’s about how I feel the world’s gone to hell in a handbasket. It’s really the first record that I’ve ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what’s going on at the moment.”

Produced by Paul Crook, Hell In A Handbasket once again features some interesting collaborations and special guests. Public Enemy’s Chuck D contributes an original rap mixed into a cover of Tom Cochran’s ‘Mad Mad World’. Entitled ‘The Good God’s a Woman And She Don’t Like Ugly’, it’s every bit as interesting as the titles alludes to. Meat Loaf said, “Chuck D is the rapper’s rapper. He is the original, and every rapper that has come after him wants to be like him. For us to have him on this record is a major coup and I am so impressed with what he wrote!”

Lil Jon, another well-known rap artist who appeared in Celebrity Apprentice alongside Meat Loaf, appears on ‘Stand In the Storm.’ And certainly, no album would be complete without long time duet partner Patti Russo who features on two songs: ‘Our Love And Our Souls’ and a version of The Mammas and The Pappas classic ‘California Dreamin’.’ The new Meat Loaf tracks on Hell In A Handbasket include “All of Me,” “The Giving Tree,” “Live or Die,” “Blue Sky/Mad Mad World/The Good God is a Woman and She Don’t Like Ugly” (special appearance by Chuck D), “California Dreamin’” (duet with Patti Russo), “Party of One,” “Another Day,” “40 Days,” “Our Love and Our Souls” (duet with Patti Russo), “Stand in the Storm” (special guest appearances from Trace Adkins, Lil Jon and Mark McGrath), “Blue Sky,” and “Fall From Grace.”

South African rockers Seether returned to the UK in March 2012 with a brand new studio album, ‘Holding Onto Strings Better left To Fray’ – released 5th March – in a CD/DVD bonus format, a version of the album exclusive to the UK market.

The album was released to widespread critical acclaim in the USA in May 2011. The debut single from the album, “Country Song”, spent an amazing 11 weeks at #1 (on Active Rock radio) over the course of the year and recently achieved Gold status for sales of over 500,000 units digitally by the RIAA. The song was the #1 most played song at Active Rock radio for the year 2011, outdistancing such acts as Foo Fighters, Staind and the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

Looking back on Seether’s career path, it’s not surprising that the band has progressed to this juncture. The band has sold millions of albums to date worldwide and are mainstays in the touring circuit averaging more than 275 performances per year. Originally founded in Johannesburg, South Africa, by Shaun Morgan and Dale Stewart, Seether made its initial impact on worldwide hearts and eardrums with 2002′s Disclaimer. The album’s first single, “Fine Again” was a pensive ballad that resonated with fans worldwide.

Seether are: Shaun Morgan (Guitars/Vocals), Dale Stewart (Bass) and John Humphrey (Drums).

‘Noah’ the debut album from Harlem Tenor, Noah Stewart was released on March 26th 2012 to great acclaim. It is hard to believe that only a few years ago Noah was a receptionist at New York’s Carnegie Hall, working to pay for his singing lessons. He has of course, since then, performed on that stage and is now building a fine reputation as a fast-rising operatic tenor, equally accomplished in interpreting such core roles as Don Jose in Carmen or Rodolfo in La Boheme or pioneering new roles in contemporary opera.

A modern opera legend in the making – watch out for much more on Noah Stewart!

Olly Murs has visited The Sun online for a record-breaking third session with them. Not only did he perform his brand new single ‘Oh My Goodness’ and album track ‘I Don’t Love You Too’ but he raised a few eyebrows by choosing to cover Paul Weller’s ‘Broken Stones’.

Olly told The Sun “I don’t think many people expect me to sing that song but I love it. I used to sing it in the pub in Whitham years ago. I’m a really big fan, Stanley Road is one of my favourite albums.”

“We live in a time when the internet is breaking artists, not the radio anymore,” big words from U.S. rapper T. Mills. Having just rocked the crowds at SXSW, signed a record deal with Columbia in the U.S. and started a hectic promo tour with screaming fans popping up wherever he goes you can certainly understand his point.

Travis Tatum Mills has successfully turned a ‘Garage Band’ laptop addiction into a dedicated fanbase of over 378k Facebook followers and millions of Youtube views that has made the Music Industry sit up and pay attention. “I feel that music is in such a good state right now. It’s our time for young musicians and artists to come together. Music is up for the taking and we’re kind of
redefining the way that the music industry works,” says T. Mills. “I feel it’s important that our generation has the opportunity to restructure everything and do it our way.” And here’s where it started with ‘She’s Got A’ (clean version below, the original has to date scored over 2.3million views):
